Frontend Developer

You build the websites and web applications we deliver to clients in Next.js, React, and TypeScript. The work spans marketing sites, brand systems, and product front ends, and you will typically work across two or three codebases at a time. You work with the UX Engineer on the design and its motion and interaction details, and with the founder on priorities, scope, and client commitments. Every site you ship must match the design, meet its performance targets on mid-range devices, and pass an accessibility review.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship client sites in Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS
- Implement the UX Engineer's designs precisely, including spacing, motion, and interaction states
- Hold every site to its Core Web Vitals targets, verified on mid-range devices before launch
- Manage deployments and the client review builds the Account Manager presents before launch
- Review code from the UX Engineer and contractors, and document your own work so others can take it over
- Estimate your work accurately and keep the Project Coordinator current on delivery dates
Requirements
- 3+ years building production web front ends, including at least one year in React
- Two or more public sites or applications you built and can present in detail
- Strong TypeScript, with the ability to write CSS without a framework when a design requires it
- Working knowledge of WCAG and experience testing with a keyboard and screen reader
- Based in the United States and able to overlap with US business hours
